Better late than never?
To be honest, this might seem a little due - after all, prelims1 are over! In fact, the whole Revel team would agree! This has been something that we've been wanting to do for a while now. We've received various feedback, since our initial beta launch, with a decent chunk being new subject requests. Particularly, H2 Biology was by far the most requested subject.
And who's surprised? It easily has the most lectures amongst all A Level subjects (a whopping 133 for just content alone!)2. For this reason, we had planned to integrate Biology by testing out a new features: LMS API integration3. Doing so would save much effort in manually downloading and uploading files into our processing pipeline (which had previously been how we did things), instead paving the way for a much cleaner, automated, painless and scalable solution. But alas, progress seemed to move at a snail's pace for such a complex system (though admittedly, it is nearing completion). We had planned to release Biology in Revel a week before prelims, but as the timeline dragged further, we decided to save the system for another time. We care more about our users than our ease of development!
The notes were kept in a reasonable amount of MSWord files (~20). However, 133 lectures seemed pretty daunting. Out of pure frustration, Samuel (lead dev for lectures), created a keyboard macro 4 to download all the lecture videos for him. Perhaps inspired by our vision of studying smarter, we strive to work smarter too.
You might be able to tell how rushed this is by the very artistic placeholder image above, while we wait for Annie (our beloved artist) to cook up a nice drawing for us... š
Regardless, we're happy that Bio is finally in, and we hope you enjoy! As always, if something's missing or going wrong, feel free to send us feedback.
Finally, with the upcoming A levels looming near for the Class of 2025 (and all of our team), we would like to wish everyone all the best! š

Prelims, or Preliminary Examinations, are major school-based examinations that JC (Junior College) students in Singapore take before their A-Level examinations. It serves as a "trial run" for A-Levels under exam conditions, with results being used in the highly secretive computation of "predicted grades". ā©
